JANMASHTAMI WAS celebrated with fervour and gaiety in various parts of the State. In Varanasi, the occasion was celebrated on Sunday. Beautifully decorated tableaux were on display at various places exhibiting the birth of Lord Krishna inside a prison and many other interesting incidents from Krishna’s life like ‘makhan chori’ and his dances with the gopis. |
