| | After claiming the women's team title, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) made it a double by winning the men's team title in the 35th All India Inter-institutional Table Tennis Championships on Wednesday. In the final played at Talkatora Indoor Stadium here, PSPB, represented by top-ranked players, outsmarted Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) 3-0. The first match between Soumyadeep Roy (PSPB) and Sourav Chakraborty (RSPB) was a dull affair until the first two sets after which Roy asserted his supremacy. But Sourav staged a fightback to make it 2-2 before Roy prevailed against the third set to win the tie 3-2. Commonwealth champion and number one player of the country A Sharath Kamal toyed with RSPB's Anirban Nandi and won the second match to extend the lead to 2-0 for PSPB. Subhajit Saha (PSPB) posted a 3-1 win over Amit Das (RSPB) to complete the whitewash. This was the 13th Inter-institutional Championship team title for PSPB and fourth in a row (2002-2005).
