After claiming the women's team title, Petroleum Sports Promotion Board (PSPB) made it a double by winning the men's team title in the 35th All India Inter-institutional Table Tennis Championships on Wednesday.

In the final played at Talkatora Indoor Stadium here, PSPB, represented by top-ranked players, outsmarted Railway Sports Promotion Board (RSPB) 3-0.

The first match between Soumyadeep Roy (PSPB) and Sourav Chakraborty (RSPB) was a dull affair until the first two sets after which Roy asserted his supremacy. But Sourav staged a fightback to make it 2-2 before Roy prevailed against the third set to win the tie 3-2.

Commonwealth champion and number one player of the country A Sharath Kamal toyed with RSPB's Anirban Nandi and won the second match to extend the lead to 2-0 for PSPB.

Subhajit Saha (PSPB) posted a 3-1 win over Amit Das (RSPB) to complete the whitewash.

This was the 13th Inter-institutional Championship team title for PSPB and fourth in a row (2002-2005).

Results (men's finals):

PSPB bt RSPB (3-0): Soumyadeep Roy bt Sourav Chakraborty 11-9 11-8 8-11 11-13 12-10; A Sharath Kamal bt Anirban Nandi 12-10 11-8 9-11 11-5; Shubhajit Saha bt Amit Das 12-10 10-12 11-8 16-14.
